I was surrendered to
Homeward Bound Golden Retriever Rescue & Sanctuary because my people didn't want me any more.
I'm more of a Flat-Coated Retriever than an Golden and I love to play
fetch. My new family took one look at me and knew right away that I
was going to have a new home. I arrived at my new home on November
13th, 2010. First thing I did was check out the back yard to see if
it was a good place to play fetch. It's proving to be quite challenging
since there are so many bushes and plants for the ball to hide in. It
sometimes take me a while to find the ball. Also my new sister
sometimes distracts me with her squirrel hunting.

I'm starting to get used to my new home. I'm eating and playing a lot.
The one thing I really don't like is to lose sight of my new family.
Every time they disappear I bark and whine. I'm going to have to learn
that they always come back to me.

I think I like my new home. I'm getting use to being home alone during
the day. I've put on a few pounds but it hasn't slowed me down much. I
still want to play ball all the time. My favorite indoor balls are
stuffed soccer balls. Every now an then my people take me to the lake.
While there, I get to be off leash and we play fetch until I can barely
walk. Swimming in that cold water to get the ball is hard work!
I'm also learning new tricks. I can balance a cookie on nose for a few
seconds. After that I just want to chomp it. I'm also learning to
search for cookies hidden around the house.
