2018 BMW 440i Coupe

BMW 440i While the 435i was a nice car, it was lacking the sportyness and stablility of the 335. Most of this was likely do to the crappy tires on the car and the lack of any m-sport options. While poking around the internet, we came across this 2018 440i with M Sport package and the beautiful Snapper Rocks Blue Metallic color. It had less than 5k miles and an upgraded interior.

Prior to this purchase, we had looked at a similar 440i in Los Angeles that had the Track Handling Package and what we suspect was an aftermarket exhaust. After a bit of googling, we found that BMW offers a performance exhaust that is dealer installed and comes with a warrenty. So we added that. When switched into sport mode, the exhaust opens up a bit and makes some nice noises.

It took a bit of research to figure out exactly what it was. Turned out to be harder than you'd think to figure out what packages/options the car actually had.

Based on the VIN decode, the car has the following options:

  • Snapper Rocks Blue Metallic (C1G) exterior
  • Individual Leather Erweitert/Gold-brawn (ZAG8) interior
  • Aluminum Carbon Dark Walnut interior trim
  • Individual instrument panel finished in leather
  • Individual roof-lining Anthracite
  • Individual high-gloss satin chrome
  • 19" wheels
  • M Sport brakes
  • Adaptiv M suspension
  • Variable Sports Steering
  • M Sport Package
  • M Aerodynamics Package
  • Sport Seats (heated)
  • Park Distance Control
  • Adaptive LED headlights
  • Automataic high-beam headlight control
  • Decoding for Nodazzle High-beam
  • Cruise Control with braking function
  • Lane change warning
  • Driving Assistant
  • Surround View
  • Park Assistant
  • Navigation system
  • Head Up Display
  • Glass roof, electric
  • Anti-theft alarm system
    • Teleservices
    • Real-Time Traffic Information
    • Remote Services
    • Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus smartphone integration
    • Instrument cluster with extended contents
    • Apple Carplay Preparation

From what we can piece together, this car was probably used as a BMW events car.It was registered by BMW North America before being auctioned off and bought by our local dealer. Given that it was never owned or leased by an individual, has an "Individual" interior configuration and based on some of the paperwork we found in the glove box, we believe this car was displayed at various BMW press events and possibly shows around the country.
