Superbowl Sunday Run

We hadn't planned to go on this event because of our plans to party in
front of the big-screen TV later in the day, but when we woke up, the
urge to drive couldn't be quenched by the thought of chips, dip and beer
in front of the TV. We could do that later!
We dashed out of the house and drove in my Red Rover to Davis where the
Miatas sat behind the Mace Blvd. McDonald's. We were soon introducing
ourselves and our beloved Miatas, making sure our new Co-Events Chair
and run leader, Rod Gonzalez, was up to snuff (not to worry -- he is!).
The group made its way through Davis to Winters where we picked up Adi Damania in his "new" 1995 Merlot. No wonder he's so proud! It's a beautiful car.
After making our way through Winters, we really started to let loose as
we drove past Lake Berryessa and out to the Silverado Trail. Not too
many stones in the road this time.
We pitted at a coffee shop and socialized as the locals came and went. The sun came from behind the fog and clouds while there in Napa County -- something us Sacramentans hadn't seen in weeks.
Back on the pavement, we passed under oaks as they embraced over the
two-lane road, decorated with swamp-inspired moss.
Then came the RV. Nothing Rod could do, not even his notorious heat-ray
vision, would get that RV to pull aside. Finally, nearly to Winters
again, the RV relented and let the swarm of little cars zoom past.
We lunched on Round Table Pizza in Winters before heading home to the big game. Needless to say, the game was a big dissappointment after such a fun morning spent with our Miata friends.
