Console Trunk Release Temporary Disable Modification

I decided I wanted the trunk contents to be a little more secure, at least until I get an alarm installed. So, out came the Dremel and the trunk lock cylinder. I followed the instructions at www.miata.net written by Rod Roller. Pay attention to the notes. I only printed the instructions and had to go back and check the notes to figure out how to get the cylinder out of the car. I used Steve Jackson's method to get enough clearance.

I had no problem making the modification and it works great. I did take the time to re-grease the tumblers and lock cylinder before I put it all back together.
